Employers can help make a difference - cleaner air starts with responsibility

What Do We Do?

CommutingGreen works with employers nationwide to provide simple and effective solutions to reduce carbon emissions by encouraging public transit and carpools for those employees who don't need to drive to work alone, and by encouraging carbon offsets for those employees who do need to drive to work alone. Every employer has a mix of both and every employer can help reduce their employees' carbon emissions to zero with a few simple solutions. To help facilitate this process, CommutingGreen has launched an easy to use employer tool called the Commuting Report. This report provides each employer a snapshot of their employees' current commuting habits, calculates and totals the carbon dioxide emissions for all employees, ranks the employer according to the results and most important, provides specific suggested actions to begin to reduce employees' emissions.

From this free online report, CommutingGreen's popular Employer Ranking is published monthly on our site, recognizing the top employers based on achievements in establishing a carbon neutral commute for all employees. Each month, CommutingGreen posts a "Most Improved Green Award" and showcases that particular employer along with their successful goals accomplished in their efforts of becoming carbon neutral.

What Can You Do?

Join the more than 15,000 employers who realize their responsibility and already provide at least one of the following solutions eliminating over 12,030,000 metric tons of carbon emissions each year. It's simple, it's effective and it can even save you money. Inform, Assist, and Reward!

Inform.

Ask your employees how they currently commute to work and then inform them about their commuting options, such as public transit, carpool/vanpool (ridesharing), car-sharing, bicycling, and even walking. Set a company goal, and inform each employee how they can help achieve that goal. CommutingGreen provides these simple tools in your own Commuting Report along with exact goals to reduce employees' emissions. see an example

Assist.

You already know the power of incentives; it's no different with commuting options. Once employees are informed of their options, a simple nudge usually is all that it takes. You can assist their efforts to commute green by purchasing a portion of their public transit costs or by purchasing a portion of their carbon offset. You can even deduct their portion of their transit costs from their paycheck saving the employee up to 40% and saving the company up to 10%. see an example

Reward.

For those employees who do commute green, public recognition has been the most effective tool for communicating to all employees that cleaner air is a priority for the company and the company appreciates those employees who share that priority. see an example
