What are employer rankings?
CommutingGreen has developed a national employer ranking engine that ranks employers based on achievements in establishing a carbon neutral commute for all employees. These rankings are generated from the results of each participating employer's Commuting Report, a free online report specific to each employer. The results place employees in one of three commuting categories based on the amount of carbon each employee is emitting from their commute. The rankings are updated monthly based on the most current Commuting Report from that month. Only the highest ranking category is listed on the CommutingGreen website.
Once an employer has completed their Commuting Report, the employer is placed in one of the following four rankings:
- Green Earth - Congratulations! More than 75% of your employees are already commuting carbon neutral. This is the highest ranking on CommutingGreen.
- Blue Skies - Your company has done a good job of minimizing carbon dioxide emissions via your employees' commute. Above 50% of your employees are commuting neutral.
- Partly Cloudy - There's work to be done. Between 25% and 50% of your employees are commuting carbon neutral and the rest drive alone without carbon offsets.
- Smoggy - There is a lot that can be done. Less than 25% of your employees are commuting to work carbon neutral and the rest drive alone without carbon offsets.
